Responsibilities for this Registered Nurse opportunity include, but are not limited to:Provide and coordinate care by assessing the physical and behavioral health needs of patientsManage a diverse adult patient population, including patients with depression and suicidal tendencies, severe mental illness, or a mix of bothMaintain medical records and educates patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions Administer psychiatric medications and monitor patients for therapeutic effects and side effectsRespond to psychiatric emergencies and crises, implementing appropriate interventions to ensure patient safetyHandle de-escalations and restraints, if necessary, following facility protocolsMaintains accountability of administration, recording, control, and security of medications, including narcoticsConduct 10-15 daily patient assessments, with a focus on mental health status and potential risksBe willing to float to any unit within the facility, which may include a small detox unitWork with an approximate staffing ratio of 1:12, with at least two nurses per unitJOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE RN REGISTERED NURSE:1+ years of recent psychiatric/behavioral health experienceBLS issued through American Heart Association or American Red CrossCurrent Virginia RN licenseHandle with Care certification preferredMust be eligible to work in the United StatesCareerStaff is proud to be a six-time Great Place to Work--- and Diversity for Social Impact--- certified source of healthcare careers.
