Job Description Job Description We are looking for an
experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis
in Newport News, Virginia. In this role, you will contribute to the
financial operations of a large manufacturing firm by handling key
accounting responsibilities. This position requires an experienced
and detail-oriented individual with exceptional attention to detail
and a strong background in managing complex financial processes.
Responsibilities: • Prepare and post accurate journal entries to
ensure proper tracking of financial transactions. • Reconcile fixed
asset accounts and maintain detailed records to support financial
reporting. • Manage intercompany account reconciliations to ensure
consistency across multiple entities. • Assist in the preparation
and review of balance sheets for various divisions within the
organization. • Perform month-end closing activities, ensuring all
financial data is complete and accurate. • Oversee general ledger
accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and
policies. • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances
and resolve discrepancies. • Maintain and update the fixed asset
ledger, ensuring proper documentation and asset categorization.•
Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a
manufacturing environment. • Proficiency in month-end close
procedures and general ledger management. • Strong knowledge of
preparing and posting journal entries. • Expertise in account
reconciliation, including fixed asset and bank reconciliations. •
Ability to manage intercompany accounts and ensure accurate
financial reporting. • Familiarity with fixed asset ledger
maintenance and related processes. • Exceptional attention to
detail and organizational skills. • Proven ability to work
independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
