Title: DMV Auditor Senior-Internal, Position No. 01805 State Role Title: Auditor II Hiring Range: $80,065.00 - $92,074 Pay Band: 5 Agency: Department of Motor Vehicles Location: INTERNAL AUDIT Agency Website: www.dmv.virginia.gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a Sr. Internal Auditor for a position within its Information Security & Risk Management administration in Richmond, VA. The Sr. Internal Auditor performs under the direction of the Chief of Internal Audit, with considerable independence in planning, developing, and executing the agency’s internal audit plan, utilizing an integrated audit approach. This position will primarily be focused on performing operational audits at the DMV headquarters. The Sr. Internal Auditor provides audit and advisory services to management and user groups about matters related to financial, compliance, operational efficiency, program effectiveness, application controls, data security, integrity controls of data processing operations, and management of automated systems. Additionally, they will mentor audit staff, communicate control weaknesses, and share recommendations for correction(s) to management. The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. Minimum Qualifications -Considerable experience in internal audit; planning and executing a wide variety of internal audits. -Experience in applying IIA standards, GAAP, and state accounting policies and procedures. Ability to interpret pertinent laws & regulations as it applies to the area that is being audited. -Experience in preparing risk assessments, defining audit objectives, and writing audit programs for areas being audited. -Strong PC skills and experience performing data analysis using Microsoft Excel or other tools. -Ability to evaluate internal controls, workflows and organizational/system issues, reach logical conclusions, and provide recommendations that result in meaningful improvement. -Experience providing advisory services to management and user groups with regard to financial compliance and operational efficiency. -Experience performing multiple & diverse projects simultaneously. -Experience mentoring audit staff. - Communicates control weaknesses and shares recommendations for correction with management. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional Considerations -Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Fraud Examiner strongly desired.
