Job Description:
Description The Hampton Inn Norfolk/Chesapeake is searching for
an outgoing and energetic person with strong attention to detail to
be its next Chief Engineer! Our hotel boasts 118 well maintained
guestrooms and a fantastic positive work environment. The Chief
Engineer must ensure all aspects of the hotel are strongly
maintained in accordance with Hilton brand standards at all times.
The Chief Engineer is responsible for: Coordinating and executing a
guestroom preventative maintenance program. Handling all
maintenance related guest complaints, issues, and requests. All
major equipment repairs and maintenance to include but not limited
to: laundry and kitchen equipment, pumps, motors, air handlers,
cooling towers, HVACs, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical,
operating equipment (vacuums),etc. All repairs needed in
guestrooms. (e.g. broken cabinetry, sofa frames, major appliance,
mirrored sliders, etc). Performs building exterior repairs and shop
projects as assigned by the General Manager. Hiring, training, and
scheduling all engineering department employees. Following hotel
purchasing SOPs to order supplies and materials in accordance with
monthly departmental budget. Provide on-call response to building
issues on a 24/7 basis. Performing preventative maintenance on all
major equipment including but not limited to: Laundry Equipment,
Cooling Tower, PTAC units, pumps, and motors. Conducting daily
pre-shift meeting with engineering staff to assign work duties and
projects. Keep files and logs on inspection reports, PTAC
maintenance, guestroom preventative maintenance, etc. Ensuring all
aspects of the hotel are strongly maintained in accordance with
Hilton Brand Standards. Completing any miscellaneous projects
assigned by the General Manager. This job description is not an

Required Skills & Abilities Strong verbal and written skills.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Significant
experience with all maintenance. Good mechanical trouble-shooting
and analytical skills. General handyman skills. Great attitude and
maturity to work with limited supervision. The employee must
regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision
abilities are required. Required Education & Experience Education
–High school diploma required. Professional tradesman certification
in at least one discipline: electrician, plumbing, HVAC,
mechanical, carpentry. Experience – Five years experience in
related field preferred. Two years experience as a head or
Assistant Chief Engineer in same or similar environment. Excellent
