Duties Job Duties The Department of Physics at Norfolk State
University (NSU) invites applications for tenure-track faculty
positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of
Quantum Science. The physics department offers a BS in physics, an
MS in Materials Science, and a PhD in Materials Science and
Engineering. We are seeking faculty with expertise in
superconducting circuits or experimental quantum optics.
Applications must be submitted by December 15, 2025, for full
consideration. The position will remain open until it is filled.
This position opened on October 23, 2025 and there is a five
consecutive workdays minimum posting requirement. Norfolk State

Qualification PhD degree in Physics or closely related field. A
record of publication and experience in superconducting circuits
