Job DescriptionThe Cloud Engineer is primarily responsible for building highly secure and efficient cloud-based environment. This includes understanding cloud computing needs, infrastructure design, maintenance, providing day to day management, support and planning.

  • Hands on experience creating all of the following, Resource Group, VNet, Load Balancers, Virtual Machines, attaching Storage Disks
  • Experience setting up all of the following, Azure data management and analytics resources such as ADF, Databricks, Functions, SQL DW, ADLS etc. and setting up secure authentication mechanism between them using MSI, AD Authentication.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure IAM concepts: RBAC, ACL, Users, MSI, Service principles
  • Good understanding of networking principles: TCP/IP, Firewalls, Load Balancers, VNET's, Subnets.
  • Manage backup and recovery of systems
  • Apply application management and administration skills with moderate level of proficiency
  • Work within and assist with management of defined IT processes and procedures including Systems Development Life Cycle methodology
  • Work with little to no supervision with extreme latitude for independent judgment
  • Consult with senior peers on medium to complex projects
  • Assist in overseeing the primary activities of individual contributors (see above) to ensure completion of tasks and attainment of departmental goal
  • Proficient in all levels and phases of cloud design, management and security.
  • Serve as escalation point for issues; resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues
  • May be responsible for budgeting of department's personnel, capital, and/or operation expensesQualificationsQualifications include:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or equivalent experience
    • Experience managing large enterprise scale, cloud environments using Microsoft Azure. Certification a plus.
    • 7+ years of experience in managing all aspects of public cloud-based infrastructure.
    • Experience in maintaining technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution
    • Demonstrated positive experience with System Development Lifecycle Methodologies
    • Scripting with Python a plus
    • A solid understanding of the Linux and Windows operating system, virtual machines and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, SSH, NFS)
    • Experience monitoring production systems, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
    • Experience with Agile approaches and concepts.
    • Experience supporting IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Cloud based solutions
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Knowledge and management of System Development Lifecycle Methodologies a plus
    • May require technical certification
    • Goal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
    • Keenly attentive to detail
