This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Wallops Island, VA.The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Launch Vehicles Business. As an integral member of the Antares integration, test, and launch operations team, the Associate Electrical Engineer will support various aspects of the assembly, integration, test, and launch of the Antares launch vehicle to deliver supplies and scientific equipment to the International Space Station under the NASA Commercial Resupply Services (CRS2) contract. Candidates will contribute to the final assembly, integration, test and flight of various orbital and sub-orbital space launch vehicle systems.Specific duties may include:Work in a fast-paced team environment performing launch vehicle avionics hardware & software system and subsystem level integration, test and launch operations.Coordinating and leading Electrical Technicians performing functions supporting activities such as, integration, test, checkout, operation, and maintenance of complex electronic flight, ground testing and launching systemsHands-on electrical integration and test of flight hardware; operating and maintaining electronic or electro-mechanical components, circuits or systems;Reviewing, updating and maintaining test procedures utilized during manufacturing and launch pad operations for correctness and completeness against mission requirements, launch vehicle configuration, and component changes and modificationsSupports and leads the testing and/or evaluation/validation of electrical systemsCoordinating and performing testing with NASA, FAA, and Wallops Flight Facility Range and Safety personnelEstablishing and maintaining effective working relationships with launch vehicle Systems, Mechanical, Quality and Safety Teams.Troubleshooting, documenting and dispositioning flight and test equipment hardware and software discrepancies and pursuing root cause and corrective actions;Evaluating and implementing Lean solutions to decrease cycle times.Maintaining launch day schedule by performing other duties as necessary.Experience Requirements:The candidate will possess a fundamental knowledge of and an understanding of the interrelationship of electronic hardware, electro-mechanical devices and control and data acquisition softwareHands on electrical integration and testing experience with multiple sub-systems or components involving a broad range of engineering disciplines such as; analog, digital, power, RF and embedded systems is desirableCandidate must possess skills needed to interpret mission requirements, launch vehicle configuration, and component changes and modifications in order to update and maintain and perform test procedures. Review test data to ensure that hardware has passed all required tests and is flight ready.Knowledge and experience using test automation applications and data analysis tools such as LabVIEW and or MATLAB is desirable.Experience in the testing of space-flight instruments and/or spacecraft or related electronic and electro-mechanical components and systems is desirable but not required.Job Qualifications:Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.Be majoring in or having majored in a Electrical Engineering or related fieldHave an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)Willing to work overtime and 2nd shift operations on occasions as requiredTravel less than 5%Pay Range for Associate Electrical Engineer:55,300 - 82,900Salary Range: 55300 - 82900Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
