Sentara CarePlex Hospital located in Hampton, VA is hiring a
Registered Nurse, Unit Coordinator for the Medicine Unit
Orthopedics Unit.
Shift: Nights: 7 PM - 7 AM
Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator: Demonstrates proficiency in
nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical
leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under
the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality
initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to
the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes
excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree
preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is
required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.
Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention
training within 15 days of hire.
Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training
within 90 days of hire.
BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing
Certification preferred.
This is a 20-bed M/S Ortho Unit with a focus on surgical patients
with a medical overflow. The surgical patient population is
appendectomy, gallbladder, vascular, colorectal, orthopedics, and
urological. Some of the medical patients diagnosis are sepsis,
UTI's, cellulitis, DKA.
Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a 224-bed, acute care hospital, and
Certified Primary Stroke Center located in Hampton, Va. Sentara
CarePlex Hospital provides care through advanced surgical programs,
emergency cardiac intervention, fellowship-trained physicians, and
the newly-opened Family Maternity Center . It is also home to the
Orthopedic Hospital at Sentara CarePlex Hospital , the area's first
dedicated orthopedic hospital, taking specialized orthopedic care
to a new level.
