Sentara CarePlex Hospital located in Hampton, is hiring a Manager
for the Med Surg - Cardiology. The Managerwill supervise and manage
a 24-hour operations.

Management Incentive Bonus potential available with this

Experience required 3 years: Healthcare Management and Clinical
Practice Care must have previous supervisory experience, and
BSN.
T he Manager, Nursing Unit is r esponsible and accountable for the
daily operations. Performs work assignments as needed to provide
coverage and to mentor or assist staff. Interviews, hires and
develops team members with the goal of developing a highly
effective work team. Engages in talent retention strategies for the
area(s) of responsibility.
This is a 24-bed Medical/Surgical Cardiac Unit where we care for
patients on telemetry monitoring. The patients are here to
determine the next step needed in their care - which may be a
cardiac cath, transfer to the heart hospital for surgery on their
heart, or having a diagnostic test such as a stress test or
echocardiogram.
Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a 224-bed, acute care hospital,
Certified Primary Stroke Center and a Magnet facility located in
Hampton, Va. The hospital provides care through advanced surgical
programs, emergency cardiac intervention, fellowship-trained
physicians, and the newly-openedFamily Maternity Center.

Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse Manager has overall accountability for the daily
operations of one or more clinical areas. Supervises patient care
services staff, ensures excellent patient safety and quality
outcomes as well as extraordinary patient/family experience.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, developing and retaining
staff with the goal of developing a highly reliable team.
Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills to
achieve unit and corporate goals. Assists in the development and
monitoring of unit budget, coordinates purchasing and payroll
processes and serves as a clinical resource to team members.
BSN required, graduate degree preferred. 2 years experience in a
support leadership RN position, i.e. Unit Coordinator, Team Lead,
or other like position may be accepted in lieu of 1 year formal
management experience. Meets any requirements defined by specific
specialty.
For RNs in Behavioral Health - De-escalation training and physical
intervention training within 15 days of hire.
For RNs in Emergency Care - De-escalation training and physical
intervention training within 90 days of hire.
Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities related to department
operations for systems management, HR management, patient safety,
quality outcomes and customer service. Must have excellent
communication and interpersonal skills; must possess and
demonstrate management and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Other/National, Registered Nurse License
(RN) - Compact/Multi-State License, Registered Nurse License (RN) -
North Carolina, Registered Nurse License (RN) - Virginia
