Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Norfolk, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/16/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel NICU Level IV Location: CHKD | Shift: 12-Hour Nights (12N) Contract Details - Guaranteed Work Week: 36 Hours - Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW); Holidays as needed - Orientation: 2–3 shifts - Interview: Nurse Manager (NM) will interview directly Unit Profile: CHKD NICU - Unit Size: 70-Bed Level IV Unit (50 private rooms, 10 double-bed rooms) - Patient Ratio: 1:2 or 1:3 - Nursing Model: Primary Nursing - Charting: Cerner - Floating: Required to PICU (assigned NICU-appropriate patient populations) Clinical Scope & Diagnosis Candidates should be comfortable managing high-acuity neonatal cases, including: 1. Extreme Prematurity: 22–36 weeks 2. Cardiac: PDA, Tetralogy of Fallot, Coarctation, Truncus 3. Respiratory: RDS, TTN, BPD, Tracheostomies 4. Surgical/GI: NEC, Hirschsprung’s, TEF, CDH, GI Ostomies 5. Neuro/Renal: HIE, Seizures, Hydrocephalus, Hydronephrosis - Special Procedures: Bedside surgeries (PDA ligation), Chest tubes, Penrose drains. ? Candidate Requirements - Experience: Minimum 3 years of Level III or Level IV NICU experience. - Licensure: RN (Virginia State or Compact License). - Certifications: BLS & NRP (Required). - Vaccination Policy: Flu Vaccine Required (Strict: No exemptions).
