Job Description:

The VAD Transplant Coordinator manifests a high level of expertise in the assessment, coordination and care of the complex patients, families, or communities to actual or potential health problems; prevention of illness and injury; maintenance of wellness; and provision of comfort. The VAD Transplant Coordinator demonstrates strong clinical experiences in patient care. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:Current RN licensure in VirginiaAHA BLS HC P Certification or equivalent Experience REQUIRED:Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in transplant, critical care or medical-surgical nursingTwo (2) years of progressive leadership experienceDemonstrated clinical expertise for population served with a minimum of one (1) year in specialty area Experience PREFERRED:Five (5) years of clinical experience in the transplant fieldAcademic Healthcare experienceAdvanced Practice Nursing Role or Clinical Leadership experience Education/training REQUIRED:Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing Education/training PREFERRED:Masters Degree in NursingCertification in Transplantation or Heart Failure or Mechanical Circulatory Support Independent action(s) required:All day-to-day operations of the role are handled independently with minimal assistance.Advice and guidance are sought from the Manager or Director on an as needed situational basis and when there is a major impact on activity outside the unit.Actions that are taken without prior approval include daily operational functions and leadership of staff.
