Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An immediate opportunity is available for experienced Registered Nurses skilled in stepdown care to provide critical medical support in a 10-bed Progressive Care unit. This contract role is based in Hanover, NH, offering a chance to work with complex neurological and surgical patients in a primary stroke center. Responsibilities: Manage patients with neuromuscular disorders, meningitis, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury, and post-surgical care including tumor resections and spinal surgeries. Provide skilled nursing care for patients requiring advanced monitoring such as arterial lines, ventriculostomies, subdural and lumbar drains. Administer and monitor invasive blood pressure lines and hemodynamic monitoring. Care for patients requiring Bi-PAP/C-PAP ventilation, including trach-C-PAP on ventilators. Monitor and administer low-dose pressors, vasoactive medications, and inotropes. Administer treatments including Mannitol and 3% saline as indicated. Manage complex wounds and multiple lines, tubes, and drains typical of neurosurgical and progressive care patients. Support patients involved in Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) trials. Desired Experience: Proficiency in invasive BP monitoring via arterial lines. Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. Skilled in care for patients with tracheostomies and complex wounds. Knowledge of critical care medications and management of pressors, vasoactive drugs, and inotropes. Familiarity with specialized drains including ventriculostomies, subdural, and lumbar drains. Previous experience working in a Neuro Stepdown, Surgical ICU, or Progressive Care setting highly preferred.
