Job Description American Traveler is seeking a travel Electrophysiology Technician for a travel job in Portsmouth, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Electrophysiology Technician - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 04/13/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Days, 5x8hrs - Hours: 40 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 13, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a cardiac catheterization lab role requiring RCIS certification and experience with advanced interventional procedures including TAVR, Watchman, and EP ablations. Details - Work in a cardiac catheterization lab with 3-4 rooms including cath, vascular, EP, and hybrid labs - Equipment includes GE machines in most labs and a Siemens system in the vascular lab - Advanced devices and techniques include balloon pump, Impella, IVUS, iFR/FFR, CSI/RotaPro/laser atherectomy, and angiography with balloon/stenting - Structural and interventional procedures include TAVR, PFO closures, Watchman, EKOs, and EP ablations - Typical caseload is 4–8 cath cases per day; higher volume days are possible - Patient population ranges from adolescent through geriatric - Monday–Friday day shift schedule with a minimum of 14 days of call per contract period, which may include weekends - Local candidates are accepted; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a reduced local rate Requirements - RCIS required - BLS and ACLS required - Vocational/Technical degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiology Technology, or an accredited Electrophysiology program required; Bachelor's degree preferred - Experience with cardiac catheterization and EP procedures required - Ability to recognize normal and abnormal ECG patterns and monitor multiple data sources simultaneously - Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages appropriately - Ability to operate and maintain complex electrical and recording equipment - Ability to work flexible schedules and participate in on-call rotation - Must be able to perform some lifting and positioning of patients - Proof of address and 1 supervisory reference required for consideration - Full SSN and DOB required for consideration - License required if applicable Additional Information - Assist cardiologists and vascular physicians with catheter-based cardiac and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures - Assist with EP studies and ablation procedures including equipment calibration, procedure setup, patient prep, and diagnostic data collection - Maintain a radiologically and electronically safe lab environment, including consistent use of PPE such as lead apron and thyroid shield - Manage lab supplies using FIFO inventory practices and support accurate billing for procedures performed - EKG skills test administered on the first day with up to two attempts to pass; study guides will be provided - Manager conducts a secondary review/interview after the clinical interview, which may extend the offer timeline - No Dysrhythmia exam required American Traveler Job ID P-687728.
