Job Description:
Job Description The Barefoot Mailman is seeking for an
experienced Hotel General Manager. We are located in Ocean City
Maryland near our sister hotel of The Castle in the Sand. Our 28
room pet friendly property has been part of the Showell Family
since 1984. The Hotel General Manager will coordinate and oversee
the daily operations, providing excellent customer service and
accommodations to our guest. Requirements: Pre-employment
background check. Weekend /holiday availability is required. Pet
friendly. Duties/ Responsibilities: Interview, hire, train,
motivate and coach staff to create a high level of service and
positive work environment. Oversee day-to-day operations. Manage
hotel and OTA reservations. Review audit daily. Issue assignments
to staff and ensure that they are completed timely and accurately.
Inspecting guest rooms. Create and manage employee schedule
understanding the impact of labor cost. Handle discipline and
termination of employees in accordance with hotel policy. Review
and submit payroll. Coordinate services with outside suppliers,
vendors and event planners. Remain highly visible and ready to
resolve issues. Create and maintain relationships with guests.
Report and follow maintenance issues to make sure they are
addressed in a timely manner. Promote accident prevention to
minimize liabilities. Ensure compliance of safety regulations.
Perform routine physical tasks commonly associated with the hotel
industry. Perform frequent property inspections during each shift.
Maintain communication and coordinate pool duties in house and with
Castle management. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/ Skills: High School Diploma or Equivalent. 3 or
more years management experience in Hotel Operations and
Hospitality Industry. C.P.O Certification preferably. Must be able
to multi-task and work independently, prioritizing as appropriate.
Have knowledge of the town places to go and the current events.
Ability to follow instructions in accordance with Human Resources
program and guidelines. Experience with hotel reservation software,
preferably Room Master. Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional
leadership and supervisory skills. Excellent customer service
skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability
to work efficiently and effectively in high pressured situations.
Ability to manage differing personalities and cultures within the
establishment. Must be able to multi-task and work independently,
prioritizing as appropriate. Have knowledge of the town places to
go and the current events. Ability to work in a pet friendly
environment. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Flexible
Schedule.
