Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Cyber Systems Administrator to maintain and troubleshoot computer systems using COTS and Northrop Grumman developed tools at the Distributed Training Center (DTC) located at Langley AFB, VA. The Cyber System Administrator will operate and maintain systems at the DTC by following all appropriate procedures to ensure the DTC Training Missions are successful in supporting the warfighter. He/she will utilize the Distributed Mission Operations Network (DMON) and DTC computers to support distributed simulation efforts, to include: physical build & assembly, burn in, configuration and reoccurring audits. This position may require supporting fielded equipment at other sites. General duties will include: operating system & software configuration, system imaging, networking, documentation, and some general engineering efforts. He/she will be an active participant in improving defined processes, developing & documenting new processes and monitoring multiple systems during Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) training events. In addition, he/she will maintain the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinate with network administrators, interact with various users, evaluate vendor products, make recommendations to purchase hardware/software, coordinate the installation of hardware/software and provide backup recovery. Ancillary duties may include: setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Primary responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, controlling and isolating problems in a data communications network
  • Activating and deactivating local DTC computer systems according to scheduled events
  • Providing first and/or second-level problem determination and provide needed support
  • Configure and support video teleconferencing between network participants
  • Recording problems, develop trouble tickets, support System Problem Report analysis, and support LAN/WAN system tests
  • Other duties as assigned by NG DMON personnel and ACC-DTC staff Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus 3 years (or a Master's degree in a related field plus 1 year) of experience; or High School diploma / Equivalent with 7 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
      • Must possess or be able to obtain DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher within six (6) months of starting
      • 3 years systems administration exp
      • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
      • Ability to work occasional shift work Preferred Qualifications:
        • Experience configuring, operating, monitoring, maintaining, and administering computer systems, computer backup and recovery solutions, patch deployment and management systems, or virtual environments for servers and workstations
        • Current DoD Top Secret Clearance
        • Experience with Windows OS, DIS/HLA Protocol Salary Range: $68,100 USD - $102,100 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
