Your Role and Responsibilities

As a COBOL Server Administrator you will be responsible for all facets of engineering and administering a COBOL Server Express 5.1 or Visual COBOL 8 environment at PD ALTESS. This would include architecting infrastructure and installing / configuring operating system configuration in an UNIX environment. You will be responsible for maintaining the infrastructure to meet availability and performance standards.

Essential Job Functions:

--- Working tasks in ServiceNow for installing, configuring, patching, or troubleshooting application and web servers

--- Documenting progress on tickets with in ServiceNow.

--- Periodic review of Army Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)

--- Documenting common knowledge for future team use into Atlassian Confluence tool

--- Consistent review of literature and current practices to support business requirements and/or new industry technology

If you are hired into a Colorado or Ithaca, NY work location, the compensation range for this position is between $94,000 and $146,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

--- At least 1 year of experience in COBOL server management

--- Knowledge of COBOL server architecture

--- Knowledge of UNIX administration

--- Understanding of application network architectures to troubleshoot firewall and port issues

--- Ability to communicate to external customers in a professional manner.

--- Understanding of SSL

--- DOD Secret clearance required

Required Certifications:

- CompTIA Security+

- Another OS environmental certification within 6 months of start date.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

--- Ability to communicate systems proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems

--- Ability to maintain project schedules and manage tasks to ensure completion of projects within the established schedules

--- Knowledge of the Cyber Command Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) processes and procedures.

--- Bachelor Degree in technical field or related discipline or comparable experience in a previous job.
