Job Description:
This position is not currently funded and is contingent upon the
award of a new contract to Amentum. At this time, Amentum is
seeking candidates to fulfill contingent roles. The expected award
timeframe is Summer 2024.
The Junior Network Administrator will help maintain and support the
U.S. Army's computer networks. They may be tasked with a variety of
duties, including installing new hardware or software, monitoring
network performance, resolving technical issues, etc. The Junior
Network Administrator will work under the supervision of senior
network administrators and closely with other junior administrators
to resolve more complex issues that require multiple people to
resolve.
Responsibilities shall include:
Implementing security measures on company networks to prevent
unauthorized access or theft of data
Implementing and maintaining network servers and other hardware
devices used in networks
Installing new software or updating existing software on computers
and other devices on a network
Maintaining an inventory of computer equipment such as servers and
workstations, along with their specifications
Coordinating with Information Technology staff members to maintain
computer network performance
Monitoring network activity to ensure the proper functioning of
network components and equipment
Monitoring network security to detect unauthorized access or other
security breaches
Setting up new computer equipment and software applications,
including e-mail accounts, operating systems, and other
applications
Troubleshooting problems with computers, printers, network devices,
or other network components to ensure optimal performance
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of job-related experience, or
equivalent
Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US
citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.
