Job Description:
Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions
of the position. Development, implementation and execution of
inbound transportation systems, processes, analysis and reports
that will provide the lowest landed cost of North American goods
and meet the inbound transportation service requirements of Family
Dollar and Dollar Tree Work closely with the functional inbound
transportation teams and supply chain leadership to fulfill their
analytical and systems requirements Principal Duties and
Responsibilities - The primary tasks the associate will perform
during his/her work schedule Effectively communicate, implement and
support all domestic inbound transportation systems, programs,
procedures and policies Develop effective automated solutions and
processes that improve transportation efficiencies by gathering
team and company requirements; augmenting either existing tools or
sourcing new solutions Develop and execute testing plans of IT
systems upgrades, equipment changes or new implementations of
locations or systems to reduce risk to the department and
organization systems and processes Continuously research emerging
and existing technologies for process enhancements Collaborate with
finance determine project ROI’s and budget; to include project
after action reports Support system / data disaster recovery to
ensure business continuity Represent inbound transportation in IT
business solutions meetings Organize and prioritize workload and
tasks to ensure proper flow of operational and tactical information
in accordance with business requirements Coordinate and execute EDI
transmission trouble shooting between corporate and business
partner logistics systems and interpret results. Draft and execute
SQL database queries and interpret results for business
requirements Ensure the proper level of communication and customer
service response by the analyst team Complete other various
assignments, as required Minimum Requirements/Qualifications -
Summary of knowledge, experience and education required. Bachelor’s
degree with a major in computer systems, business analytics,
statistics, supply chain or comparable field Two plus years of
systems and analytics work experience Knowledge of transportation
software applications from an operational and functional
perspective. Possess an ability to conceive, develop and implement
new ideas, procedures and processes whether organically or though
staying attune to new technologies and procedures Should exhibit
initiative, dependability, ability to work with minimal direct
supervision Strong operational and financial analytical skills, the
ability to think critically and problem solve Ability to work well
with people at different levels within and outside of the company.
Strong organizational, administrative, written and verbal
communication skills Ability to manage numerous projects
simultaneously. Must possess qualities of integrity, discretion and
strong work ethics Practical working knowledge of Oracle
Transportation Management System The ability to interpret /
understand EDI transactions. Experience or education in statistics
and/or financial reporting. Ability to write and understand SQL
Previous work experience with ETL tool like Alteryx Desired
Qualifications - Desired but not required. Masters degree
Experience in retail transportation management Previous
transportation work experience with a multi-billion dollar
organization Prefer previous experience in retail industry and/or
large transportation company
