Job Duties Provide day-to-day supervision and case management
services to adult offenders and assessed to have high criminogenic
risks and/or treatment needs in support of the Department’s best
supervision practices. Serves as Team Lead of the District 31 Gang
Team providing direction and / or instructions to two employees for
the purpose of case assignments, case reviews, workload
distribution and business need. This position will organize and
chair/community partner meetings, provide guidance and advice to
the team members and perform administrative tasks to include but
limited not limited to case assignments. Makes recommendations
pertaining to assessing client risks and needs. Actively applies
evidence based practices including effective communication skills,
principles, and techniques to promote internal change within the
offender while resolving complex case management issues. Conduct
home and community contacts in accordance with case needs, case
plans and DOC and Unit Policy and Procedures. Prepare Pre-sentence
Investigations, sentencing guidelines, and other reports as
assigned in a timely manner; testify and provide sentencing
recommendations to the court/attorney. Main point of contact with
Regional Gang Specialist and Police to coordinate in information
sharing for intelligence gathering. Minimum Qualifications Working
knowledge of the adult criminal justice system, case management and
counseling techniques. Demonstrated ability to professionally
interact with staff, probationers, community resources, and the
public. Ability to manage time and prioritize work assignments to
meet required timelines and goals. Experience preparing written
reports and presenting reports to official outside audiences.
Experience conducting interviews to gather information. Experience
working directly with adult supervisees providing program
management and reentry planning. Experience facilitating offender
treatment groups. Experience working in a probation and parole
district office. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Additional Considerations Advanced knowledge, certification,
coursework, training in Criminal Justice, Public Administration,
Social Science, Counseling or related field. Special Instructions
