Job Description:
Summary of Position Applies a broad knowledge of logistics and
customer service principles, concepts and procedures to complete
challenging and complex operational and analytical assignments.
Works independently in solving problems and completing assignments.
Supports and holds accountability for the daily load planning of
store order demand and Distribution Center Shipping Department
workflow. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Develop, review,
revise, and implement standard operating procedures for all aspects
of the supply chain process with guidance from the transportation
management team. Responsible for the daily routing of DC facilities
and providing guidance and expertise to support the completion of
additional DC routing. Manage carriers and suppliers to support the
flow of goods through the supply chain. Responsible for supporting
carrier performance in terms of on-time service, equipment
availability, follow-up and problem resolution. Manage operational
activities of third party dedicated carriers to ensure compliance
with Dollar Tree transportation policies. Manage balance between
DC’s, third party carriers, and store operations to achieve desired
level of customer service quality with store deliveries and issue
resolution. Manage Canadian delivery process to stores and cross
border DC shipments. Ensure Dollar Tree backhauls are executed
within standard by proactively managing the carrier and vendor
workflow to the distribution center network. Manage the
documentation process for standard operating procedures within
outbound transportation. Evaluate potential store locations for
transportation feasibility. Manage deliveries around store
inventories. Assist with day-to-day operational issues and customer
service with store deliveries. Assist and provide support to
transportation field teams to help facilitate exceptional service
to our DC’s, third party carriers, and stores. Plan and support all
aspects of new store deliveries. Manage the store hit claims
approval process. Execute and support all company initiatives.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
work experience (at least 6 years of logistics work experience for
non-bachelor’s degree holders). Ability to work independently in a
fast-moving environment. Ability to be flexible and manage change.
Ability to learn and become adept in the use of the Transportation
Management software - OTM. Proven ability to manage budgetary
goals, meet project deadlines, deliver quality work and present
ideas and recommendations. Critical thinking and problem solving
