Defense & Federal Solutions is seeking a Production Planning and
Scheduler to support the Stowage program. This position is located
at our Net Center location in Newport News, Va. The candidate will
be responsible for planning, directing, training, scheduling and
coordinating all Stowage related tasking for Seawolf, Los Angeles
and Virginia Class Submarines (VCS). The candidate will lead the
daily processing of all Stowage related activities and the quality
review of all Stowage related internal and external products:
+ + Process COSAL Maintenance Action (CMA) and update Real-Time
Management Information System (ROMIS), Master Stowage System and
+ Process Engineering Reports (ERs) Identification, routing of
Engineering Reports with impact to stowage.
+ Warehouse support, lead the arrangement and pre-binning of
Replicas and Special Stowage. Resolution of items without stowage
location, Identification of items requiring resolution by the
Design Yard and the assignment of items to locations based on ER's.
Notifying warehouse team leaders about changes based on ERs. Assist
with stowage of Hazardous Material and assist with loadout of boats
when requested. Resolve problems during loadout and Identify empty
lockers and special stowage aboard VCS boats.
+ Coordination, delivery, audit, stowage and reporting of test
+ Liaison with Electric Boat Inc. for resolution of stowage
+ Attend and participate in Weekly CMA Status meetings.
+ Attend and participate in Weekly Electric Boat Inc. Stowage
+ Attend and participate in Weekly Onboard Repair Part (OBRP)
+ Attend and participate in Quarterly Supply Support Readiness
Review (SSRR) Meetings.
+ Attend and participate in Monthly Test Equipment Status
Essential Job Responsibilities
Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and
coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow
of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material
availability, and potential production problems to ensure that
personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as
needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply
and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the
production or purchase of components or parts based on a master
production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance,
manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic,
etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of
move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1
year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High
School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
+ Prior experience with reading and understanding engineering
+ Prior submarine modernization or stowage related
+ Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and
+ Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security

The majority of the responsibilities will be associated with
computer use. Good sight and the full use of both hands for
computer input are essential. May be required to visit job site in
an industrial or shipboard environment.
