Position Purpose:
With direction from the Marketing and Development Manager and in
close coordination with the Chief Marketing & Development Officer,
the Marketing and Development Specialist will assist in the
implementation of VersAbility Resources' comprehensive Marketing
and Development Plan. The incumbent will be responsible for grant
proposal writing, submission, research and reporting; will assist
with a broad array of marketing projects, assist with donor
relations efforts, and will participate in the development and
implementation of special events and projects (both in person and
digital/virtual) for fundraising and community awareness
purposes.
Primary Duties:
- Prepares proposals by determining concept, gathering and
formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining
approvals.
- Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying
opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and
attending strategy meetings.
- Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target
dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and
transmittal.
- Enters and monitors tracking data.
- Assist in the development of newsletters, advertisements,
annual reports, videos, and flyers to highlight VersAbility
Resources' programs and initiatives
- Participates in the planning and coordination of VersAbility's
events - The Ability Am Golf Tournament and other events
- Maintain the annual activity calendar to ensure that the
required activity is completed in a timely fashion
- Assist in the planning and implementation of VersAbility's
awareness events (Business breakfasts, open houses, Family Fun
Night, etc.)
- Assist with email campaigns, including e-blasts and
e-newsletters via Constant Contact
- Assist in entering and managing data in VersAbility's donor
database, The Raiser's Edge
- Represent VersAbility Resources at trade and community events
and lead presentations about VersAbility Resources'
services
- Participate in department goal setting, budgeting, and
planning
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills Knowledge & Abilities:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or related
field preferred. Must have a safe driving record and a valid state
driver's license
Experience:
At least 1 year of experience with graphic design using Adobe
Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop with strong
proof-reading and editing skills. At least 1 year of grant writing
experience for organizations.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite at a proficient
level

Environmental:
