Certified Primary Stroke Center located in Hampton, Va.
Sentara CarePlex Hospital provides care through advanced surgical
programs, emergency cardiac intervention, fellowship-trained
physicians, and the newly-openedFamily Maternity Center. It is also
home to theOrthopedic Hospital at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, the
area's first dedicated orthopedic hospital, taking specialized
orthopedic care to a new level.

Shifts: Days, Evening and Nights
We are seeking to place candidates in the following units:
Medical/Surgical Ortho
20-bed M/S-Surgical and 12 Beds Orthopedic Unit with a focus on
surgical patients with a medical overflow. The surgical patient
population includes appendectomy, gallbladder, vascular,
colorectal, orthopedics, and urological. Some of the medical
patient's diagnoses are sepsis, UTIs, cellulitis, DKA.
Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit
24-bedunit where we care for patients with a variety of healthcare
needs. We are the designated Stroke Unit. We provide for
respiratory-compromised patients on Bipap, high-flow and/or chronic
long-term vents. We manipulate and titrate vasoactive infusionsand
have bedside monitors. We provide care for patients with DKA, CHF,
Pneumonia, and much more.
Medical/Surgical - General Medicine
24 - Bed Provide care to acute and chronic care patients with a
variety of comorbidities from the age of 18 years of age and up,
with a special love for our senior population. We are looking for
new grads to seasoned nurses, who are compassionate, dependable,
flexible, and hardworking
Medical Oncology
24-bed unit that specializes in providing exceptional care for
Solid Tumor Oncology, Hematology Oncology, and Surgical Oncology
patients. Chemotherapy/Biotherapy drug administration
Pre/Post-Surgical Care, Hospice and Palliative Care, and Sickle
Cell Management
Medical Cardiac/Telemetry
24-bed Medical/Surgical Cardiac Unit where we care for patients on
telemetry monitoring. The patients are here to determine the next
step needed in their care - which may be a cardiac cath, transfer
to the heart hospital for surgery on their heart, or having a
diagnostic test such as a stress test or echocardiogram.
AHEART: (Adult Health Rotation)
The AHEART program is open to new RN graduates. The RN will orient
on Medical-Surgical units and be classified as Adult Health
Rotation RNs. The RN will receive full-time benefits and new grad
pay with the addition of working on a Rotation Team to provide a
variety of clinical experiences. All General Medicine and Surgical
units participate in the AHEART Program.
Divisional Resource Pool
Registered Nurses require 18 months of recent experience in their
specialty area i.e. ICU, OR, etc. to be eligible for the Resource
Pool. Flexi - Hours: The team member must enter at least 24 hours
of prescheduled time per calendar month in API. Of these
prescheduled hours, 8 hours were scheduled on a weekend shift and 8
hours on an off-shift.

Job Summary
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent
level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking
model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice
(assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning,
implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion
and evaluation) along with the standards of professional
performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication,
collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice
/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and
environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of
professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and
skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical
areas.
BSN or MSN preferred. New Hire Education Requirement: All new RNs
who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement
committing to enrollment in an accredited RN to BSN program within
24 months of hire and successfully obtaining their BSN within 5
years of hire. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by
specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire;
Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire;
Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy &
Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care -
Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient
Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's
required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

N-2YR - RN-Associate's Degree (Required), N-3YR - RN-Diploma
(Non-degree) (Required), N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree
