Position Description: Coordination and Analysis Lead
ADNET Systems Inc. seeks to hire a Coordination and Analysis Lead
for the NASA Applied Sciences' Climate Resilience and Community
Action (CRCA) Program. The CRCA accelerates the development and
application of actionable Earth observation information to
equitably improve societal resilience. The Lead will analyze and
track indicators across the program and coordinate CRCA efforts
between elements and across domestic and international networks.
Support includes assisting the program manager with strategic
planning and identifying gaps and opportunities, identifying
issues, and developing new partnerships. This is a full-time
position supporting the CRCA in Hampton, Virginia or remotely from
the US East Coast as part of the Research, Science, and Engineering
Services (RSES) contract.
The ideal candidate is expected to have excellent project
management/coordination, and time management skills and interact
with stakeholders including government task representative, the
contractor management, other contractor workforce, and domain
experts. The candidate must also have ability to communicate
findings clearly verbally or in writing and be comfortable in
scientific workshops, conferences and presentations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Program Manager with coordination of the Climate
Resilience (CR) and Equity and Environmental Justice (EEJ) program
elements and with initiatives focused on climate adaptation,
climate services, and other program-level activities
- Perform analyses to support and coordinate with NASA Earth
Action Program Managers, including Agriculture, Capacity Building,
Disasters, Ecological Conservation, Health & Air Quality, Water
Resources, and Wildland Fires, other parts of Earth Action to
ensure awareness of CRCA activities and identify synergies and
opportunities for coordination and collaboration
- Contribute to development and implementation of the overall
CRCA strategy, including user community engagement, portfolio
priority-setting, establishing and nurturing partnerships, and
providing logistics support for solicitations
- Develop and implement approaches to increase focus on measuring
outcomes and impact, and conduct analysis of other CR and EEJ
approaches and programs
- Perform studies and analyses to identify and address
stakeholder and community needs for NASA Earth observations
information on spatially and temporally relevant scales and needs
for equitable access to NASA Earth observations
- Assist the Program Manager with overall coordination and
participation in both internal and external groups such as the
Group on Earth Observations (GEO) and US Global Change Research
Program (USGCRP)
- Maintain awareness of new products and applications relative to
CRCA and identify communication, coordination, and collaboration
opportunities to reach new end-users and address user
needs
- Manage day-to-day operations, provide logistics and planning
support for retreats and program meetings, and attend meetings on
behalf of the CRCA Program Manager, as needed
- Support intern recruitment and selection, and coordinate
activities and meetings with interns throughout their term
supporting CRCA
- Travel to support numerous meetings and conferences within the
US and occasional international travel
Requirements:
- M.S. Degree in Atmospheric Science, Earth Science or related
field with 3 years' experience working within NASA or other
capacity building programs (Equivalent combination of education and
experience will be considered)
- Knowledge and experience with Earth sciences, applied sciences,
climate sciences and capacity building
- At least three years of leadership experience and effectively
coordinating among peers and management in both face-to-face and
virtual environments
- Excellent communication skills
(written/oral/presentation/listening)
- Ability and interest in detail- and task-oriented work to
gather, track, and analyze information on program elements and
program
- US Citizenship or permanent residency and ability to obtain
NASA badge for as a public trust professional
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with NASA Applied Sciences in positions of
increased responsibility
- Ability to identify and convey issues, gaps, synergies,
options, lessons learned and recommendations.
- Experience with interagency and/or international partnerships
or committees
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and be
assertive
- Ability to collaborate and support people inside and outside
the program to accomplish mutual goals; inherent to this is the
ability to promote trust, inclusivity, and transparency by
facilitating cooperation and teamwork, and supporting constructive
resolution of Interest or experience in strategic planning
- Experience in communicating results and impacts
