Performs mission execution in all section activities to includequalification training, scheduling, and tactics, techniques, andprocedures under the guidance of a senior specialist. Possessesknowledge of Airborne ISR concepts, principles, and practices; and aworking knowledge of specific functional areas of SignalsIntelligence to accomplish work processes through the use of relatedintelligence systems, mission equipment, methods, services, andfacilities. Presents briefings for mission preparation, includingcombat planning, weather factors, mission objectives, and otheragency coordination to ensure effective mission execution. Worksclosely with operations officer in the development of operationsexercises which test the capabilities and proficiency of the crew.Interacts with multiple national and defense organizations duringthe planning process, including MAJCOM, Joint Commands, andcoalition partners. (50%)2. Must perform duties in one or more of the following sections:a. Weapons and Tactics: (10%)Enables weapon system optimization for intelligence systememployment and integration into Combat Air Force operations.Develops and teaches advanced warfighter educational lessons to allsquadron personnel. Conducts warfighter education to combat missionready (CMR) personnel. Works closely with the operations trainingsection to expand the recurring training program (classroom andscenario) to increase the crew baseline knowledge. Providessupporting/background information on which to build lesson outlines.Develops and administers weapons and tactics knowledge examinationsto unit crewmembers. Collaborates in the development and executionof deployments and exercises involving ISR capabilities. Reviews andfacilitates new system employment techniques, and trains unitpersonnel on new tactics and procedures. Develops new tactics on ISRoperations methods, and enhancement training of deployed operations.Enhancesnext-generation intelligence systems subject-matter expertise andoperational mission readiness and utilizes test activities toenhance fielding of future intelligence systems. Assists indevelopmental and operational testing and trial period procedures.Leads efforts to develop and maintain a unit tactics manual toinclude approved unit tactics, Tactic Improvement Proposals (TIP)awaiting submission, and tactics awaiting approval. Collaborates andresearches in the development of new Tactics, Techniques, andProcedures (TTPs) for the assigned weapon system. Recommends changesfor implementation to the Air Force Doctrine Document (AFDD 3-1) andguidance for intelligence operations. Identifies deficiencies insquadron employment plans and implements corrective action to ensureunit mission readiness. Monitors squadron and higher-level programsto develop new methods to satisfy unit training requirements; and,liaises with multiple higher headquarters (HHQ) to provide latestmaterial available on weapons, tactics, and associated intelligencesystems for their use in ISR units.b. Operations Training: (20%)Executes the training program for all unit operators includingsystem capabilities, tactics, and employment considerations.Executes a detailed training plan to create certified operatorscapable of deploying and providing desired ISR capability tocombatant commanders. Instructs academic and hands-on trainingpertaining to the use of intelligence systems; provides advice onthe proper weapons and tactics to enhance execution of the ISRmission. Executes policy, instructions, and procedures governing theoverall management of the training program. Presents material inaccordance with lesson plans. Assists in the updating of coursematerials to include study guides, visual aids, simulationscenarios, written tests, training aids, and course outlines.Collaborate and comply with MAJCOM guidance to ensure standardized,compliant instruction is delivered to operators in initial and/orcontinuation training programs.c. Scheduling: (20%)Matches training requirements against available simulator andaircraft resources to meet the needs of the unit training program.Coordinates training requirements with external agencies ensuringcompatibility and effectiveness goals are aligned with unit trainingprogram. Researches regulatory guidance to ensure only qualifiedoperators are scheduled for available training scenarios. Organizessubmissions to national level agencies requesting Authority toOperate for all training and exercise locations. Interprets guidanceand performs logistics functions for deployments and exercisesincluding travel, lodging, and acquisition of specific missionequipment.3.
