We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as an Aircraft Mechanic III (Tech Inspector) to work out of Fort Eustis, VA. The Aircraft Technical Inspector is responsible for airworthiness of various make - model aircraft, component teardown inspections, backshop inspections, maintaining master reference library, reviewing publications, forms, records for currency - accuracy, and ensuring that all performed maintenance procedures comply with "aircraft specific" Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs). The Aircraft Technical Inspector will perform visual; initial, acceptance, in-progress, one hundred percent, and final inspection processes by using already established Government aircraft maintenance standards outlined in the applicable IETMs. The Aircraft Technical Inspector will follow pre-established Government guidelines in Army Technique Publication ATP 3-04.7 Army Aviation Maintenance, chapter 5. The aforementioned standards and guidelines are tied to the current contract Performance Work Statement (PWS) and also includes adherence to the applicable clauses in the Aerospace Standard AS9110. Responsibilities * Review pertinent staff, and orders book for TI orders. * Maintain airworthiness standards on all customer supported aircraft. * Provide significant UH60 A/L/M phase maintenance and backshop support during routine and maintenance surge. * Verify parts ordering for special projects. * Monitor traceability processes per clauses in AS9110. * Perform unannounced inspections of supply storage areas by using checklists to verify condition tagging, labeling, assigning locations, quantities on hand, traceability, due-ins, due-outs, re-ordering points availability of spreadsheets. * Perform visual component teardown initial, in-progress and final inspections. * Initiate applicable condition tags for serviceable and unserviceable aircraft parts. * Maintain a master reference library that supports the operational mission. * Maintain an orders book that designates staff to execute Quality Control duties and responsibilities outlined in chapter 5 of ATP 3-04.7. * Review aircraft weight and balance program as per AR 95-1, AR 95-23 and assigned technician qualifications and functions. * Weight aircraft as per type and category as required by customer requirements using calibrated TMDE scales. * Perform aircraft logbook reviews as required. * Review aircraft historical logbooks for completeness and for latest compliance with pertinent safety of flight (SOF) messages, safety of use (SOU), maintenance information messages (MIM), aviation safety action messages (ASAM), and general (GEN) messages. * Compare applicable aircraft historical record TBOs with "MCDS" when required. * Review TMDE procedures, processes and usage logs per the current supply operations procedure and AR 750-43. * Review publications request for correctness, completeness, and applicability. * Review Corrosion Prevention Control (CPC) processes for applicability and effectiveness. * Review FOD program for applicability, documented FOD walks, and effectiveness. * Review AOAP program as per TB 43-0211. * Open and close work orders as per production control request and review for trends that may pose safety concerns. * Coordinate Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC) depot level repairs as required. * Perform shop, FOD inspections as needed. * Ensure staffing use IETMs as required. * Submit DA Form 2028s for publication changes as required. * Submit Product Quality Deficiency Reports as required. * Ensure status symbols are cleared as per DA Pam 738-750. * Ensure inspection stamps are used as per the latest procedure. * Review MWO records and AMCOM resources for compliance purposes. * Monitor the Army Oil Analysis Program as required. * Take oil samples, complete applicable forms, and process them as per the Army Oil Analysis Program (AOAP). * Monitor the usage of the Aircraft Notebook ACN system to maximize effectiveness and processes that minimize aircraft down time and improve upon component repair turn-around-times (TAT). * Routinely review our workflow processes that might provide a cost avoidance, savings to the government. * Perform all other assigned duties and responsibilities as required Qualifications Required Skills: * Have a minimum of 7-years of Mil-Std aviation rotary-wing maintenance experience * Must be trained, qualified and certified to clear Red X and Circled Red Xs from applicable forms and records as per DA Pam 738-751 * Must be have completed requisite training to perform weight and balance technician duties and responsibilities * Must validate training and qualifications by providing a DD Form 214 or certificates of completed maintenance training commensurate to (BNCO). Desired Skills: * Must be trained, qualified to weight customer supported aircraft * Must have experience in planning major maintenance events, Maintenance Engineering Changes MEC to perform AMCOM authorized depot level repairs * Simultaneously review several logbooks, determine maintenance workload, prioritize work orders, assign tasks, ensure consumables are on hand, minimize downtime and provide safe mission ready aircraft * Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license is preferred but not required * Must have a working knowledge, understanding of various make model customer supported aircraft systems * Have ability to assist in planning and prioritizing special projects and routine aviation maintenance tasks during Production Control meetings * Assist with analyzing work order backlog, determine root causes and implement mitigation processes that alleviate work backlog * Use, share multi-tasking skills to provide a real-time daily status of assigned maintenance tasks * In-depth ability to read and understand engineering drawings and parts requirements * Proactively lead, direct a maintenance crew during early stages of phase maintenance induction of aircraft * Proficient at using Microsoft Office and Window 10 OS to access AMCOM maintenance websites and other AMCOM PEO activities that are linked to our special projects Education: * Highschool Diploma or equivalent Clearance: Public Trust Travel : 10% Options Apply for this job online Apply Share Email this job to a friend Refer Sorry the Share function is not working properly at this moment.
