*Description*Are you tired of dealing with aggressive,
overbearing owners? HQHV Spay and Neuter clinics offer you the
ability to care for the patients you love with very little
interaction with their owners. And no more working late nights,
weekends, or holidays!!Fixin to Save Spay & Neuter Clinic, a
program of Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society seeks to hire an
additional Licensed Veterinary Technician to help support our
mission of providing high-quality medical care to community pets.

community!*Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
Handle and track controlled substances for large volumes of
surgical patients* Efficiently pre-medicate, induce, and intubate
all patients as necessary* Able to monitor anesthesia, with a clear
idea of abnormal conditions* Ensure prompt and accurate paperwork
procedures are followed each day* Follow all written and verbally
communicated departmental standard operating procedures* Train
veterinary assistants to utilize our patient care protocols* Able
to respond appropriately during an emergency, able to take
directions from a veterinarian and direct others during the event,
and maintain competency during CPR procedures* Effectively team
lead, displaying a positive attitude and acting as a motivating
force for all staff* Able to efficiently run clinic team and
maintain the surgical flow* Able to perform all job functions of a
veterinary assistant* Demonstrates good speed when necessary*
Competently handles surgical complications and rechecks*
Effectively critiques breaks in sterility* Effectively critiques
and suggests additional disease control measures* Understands and
practices low-stress animal handling* Communicates effectively with
clients and colleagues* Must work collaboratively with the clinic
director, veterinarian, veterinary technicians, veterinary
assistants, and receptionist*Physical requirements:** Must be able
to work standing or sitting for 8 or more hours* Must be able to
lift and carry up to 100 pounds with help* Must be able to bend and
kneel repeatedly* Must be able to see fine detail in a variety of
situations* Must be able to safely pre-medicate feral
cats*Education, Experience:** Must be a Licensed Veterinary
Technician in the state of Virginia* Must maintain all current and
correct licensure* Experience working in a high-volume spay/neuter
clinic preferred*Reports to*: Clinic Director*Classification:
*Full-Time*Hours: *Monday - Thursday 7:15 - 5:15 No nights,
weekends, or holidays!!!*Compensation: *Hourly rate commensurate
with experience, with paid time offJob Types: Full-time,
